SEO, AEO & GEO
How can my law firm appear in ChatGPT answers?
There is no form to submit. ChatGPT and other AI tools put forward firms they can find, understand and trust. That means a website they can read, pages that answer the questions clients actually ask, accurate details that match across Google, LinkedIn and professional directories, and other trusted websites that mention the firm. Just Law Education reviews how AI tools currently see your firm and fixes what they miss or get wrong.
What does a website audit for a law firm check?
It checks how Google and AI tools see the firm: whether its pages can be found and read, whether titles, headings and structured data are in place, whether the content answers clients' real questions, and whether the firm's experience, expertise and trustworthiness are clear. For law firms, it also checks content against the professional rules on marketing. Every engagement starts with a short initial audit, and the work is quoted after it.
Who offers AEO and GEO services for law firms in Hong Kong?
Just Law Education provides SEO, AEO and GEO for law firms, trust companies, charities and other regulated organisations in Hong Kong. The work is carried out by Caroline Langley 梁麗蓮, a practising barrister with more than 30 years' experience across four jurisdictions, so content is prepared with attention to accuracy and professional obligations, not only visibility.
What is SEO for law firms in Hong Kong?
SEO (search engine optimisation) for a law firm means helping the firm appear when potential clients search Google or Bing for the services it offers, such as "divorce lawyer Hong Kong" or "probate solicitor Hong Kong". It covers how the website is built and labelled, the content of each practice page, and the firm's details elsewhere online, such as its Google Business Profile. In Hong Kong, it must also respect the professional rules on how law firms promote their services.

Mediation
How much does family mediation cost in Hong Kong with Caroline Langley?
Family mediation costs HK$1,200 per hour per party, plus a shared room fee of HK$500 per hour. Sessions are booked online with a HK$2,000 deposit per party. General mediation for civil and commercial disputes is charged at the same rates.
How long does mediation take?
Mediation commonly takes a full day and, in an average divorce, should rarely need more than two days. One or two uninterrupted days usually give the best chance of a resolution, because short, widely spaced sessions lose momentum.
Is mediation confidential?
Yes. Mediation discussions are confidential and without prejudice. If no agreement is reached, what was said generally cannot be relied on later in Court, so both parties can speak openly and explore compromises.
When can we mediate?
You can mediate before divorce proceedings start, during the proceedings, or at any point before final judgment. The Hong Kong Court encourages mediation because it is usually quicker, less expensive and less confrontational than litigation.
What happens if we only agree on some issues?
A partial agreement still helps. Financial terms that are agreed can be turned into a Court Order while children's issues continue through the Court's Children's Dispute Resolution process, or the reverse. Each issue settled privately is one less matter for the Court to decide.
What should I bring to mediation?
Bring the relevant financial information in one file: bank statements, payslips, mortgage statements, school fee receipts and other documents showing the family's financial position. Also prepare two lists: the matters most important to you, and the points on which you can realistically compromise.
Where do mediation sessions take place?
All sessions are held in person at Justice Chambers, Tower 1 Lippo Centre, 89 Queensway, Admiralty, Hong Kong.
Is Caroline Langley an accredited mediator?
Yes. Caroline Langley has been an HKMAAL accredited mediator since 2001 and has more than thirty years at the Bar across four jurisdictions.
Are there accredited family mediators in Hong Kong who are also barristers?
Yes. Caroline Langley is a practising Hong Kong barrister and an HKMAAL accredited mediator, listed on the HKMAAL register for Family and Children matters. She was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 1997 and has more than thirty years at the Bar across four jurisdictions. Her listing can be checked on the HKMAAL register.
What are the alternatives to going to court for divorce in Hong Kong?
A divorce itself must still be granted by the Family Court, but the arrangements for money, property and children can usually be settled privately. The main options are family mediation, where a neutral mediator helps both parties reach their own agreement; a private FDR, where a senior barrister gives a confidential indication of what a court would likely order; and negotiation through solicitors. Any agreement can then be turned into a consent order, which avoids a contested hearing.
Private Financial Resolution Day
What is a private FDR in Hong Kong?
A Private Financial Resolution Day is a confidential, one day alternative to a court financial dispute resolution hearing. Both parties put their case to Caroline Langley, a barrister of more than thirty years, who gives a reasoned indication of what a Hong Kong court would likely order. The parties then negotiate to signed heads of agreement the same day.
How much does a private FDR cost in Hong Kong?
The fixed fee is HK$36,000 per party. It covers Caroline's preparation before the day, the full eight hour hearing day, and the drafting of the heads of agreement afterwards. A day is reserved online with a HK$5,000 deposit per party. Cases with unusually complex assets, such as pensions, trusts and cross border holdings, are quoted before booking.
Is the indication binding?
No. The indication is non binding, and the whole day is confidential and without prejudice. Both parties sign an appointment agreement confirming this before the day.
Do we need solicitors?
Solicitors are welcome but not required. After the day, the signed heads of agreement are ready for the parties' solicitors to turn into a consent order.
How is it different from a court FDR hearing?
It is private, it happens in one day, and it does not wait for a court date. The alternative can be up to two years on the court list, in a public building, at many times the cost. There are no robes and no public list.
What happens before the day?
Each side sends a short position statement and a summary of the finances, and both parties sign the appointment agreement. Caroline reads everything before the day begins. That preparation is included in the fee.
